Why choose a Woven Fabric for a footstool?

Whether plain or patterned, woven fabrics such as linens, cottons, chenilles and boucle are very popular choices for home furnishings.

Woven fabrics are made using a loom so they can not stretch or shrink, making them ideal for smart, tailored upholstered items such as you new footstool.

A fabric that has been woven is usually more sturdy and therefore a great choice for a high traffic item of furniture where you do not want it to show signs of wear and tear quickly.

Here at The Footstool Workshop, we make each footstool to your specifications. You can choose the size, shape, fabric, feet and finish online. You can even approve your choice of fabric for your footstool, at home, via our free sampling service.

We run many colours and textures of woven fabrics. You can even provide your own to us for upholstery if you wish.

House Cotton

House Cotton is a lovely woven fabric with a natural feel. We run six colours or House Cotton with many more available on request.

Textured Weave

Available in six colours, our textured weave has visual interest, is great value and is included in the base price of your footstool or ottoman.

Soft Weave

A fabulous quality fabric with a woven texture and a very soft hand whilst still being durable.

12 colours are available on the fabric samples page.

Basket Weave

For a weave with a little ‘something’ going on, and a multi coloured effect, choose one of three basket weaves

Diamond Weave

A geometric small, or ‘ditsy’ pattern always looks fabulous on a footstool.

Geometric Bricks

Inspired by Indian hand woven blankets, creating hefty upholstery weaves made from linen and cotton. This fabric makes up beautifully on our plain top footstools, and will be the eye-catching centre piece in any room.
